|Get a Passport at Washington Public Library|
The library has passport applications available. Applications can also be downloaded from the Department of State at http://travel.state.gov/passport/. Please read the following information carefully. Contact us if you have any questions.
Passport applications will be accepted during the following hours:
Monday, Tuesday, and Friday 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
Wednesday and Thursday 8 a.m.-7:30 p.m. (only until 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 14, 2013)
What do I need to get a passport?
Two forms of Identification
One 2 x 2 photo. This must have been issued within the past 6 months. Photos can be taken at Walgreens, Wal-Mart, OR at AAA (with membership).
Passport Fees and Charges
Pay with 2 separate checks: Must be either Check, Money Order, or Travelers Check (except for the $25 to the library, which can be cash). Applicant's name & birthdate must be on checks.
1st check made out to U.S. Department of State: Persons 15 & under $80 for Passport Book; $15 for Passport Card
Persons 16 & over $110 for Passport Book; $30 for Passport Card Anyone flying anywhere in the world is required to have a Passport Book. A Passport Card is for travel via land vehicle across the border to Canada or Mexico.
2nd check made out to Washington Public Library:
$25 per person processing fee.

Passports will be delivered in approximately 4-6 weeks. If you need a passport sooner, you may expedite your application.
To expedite processing:
Add $60 to the check made out to the U.S. Dept. of State. This "ensures processing within three business days from receipt of applications by Passport agencies." This is recommended for those who need a passport in 2-3 weeks.
It is recommended that those who expedite also use overnight mail, which is $12.72 one way, or $29.70 round trip. This can be added to the check to the U.S. Department of State. This is recommended for those who need a passport in less than 3 weeks.
Persons aged 16 & 17 must have a birth certificate, photo ID, and parental permission and in-person signature of one parent.
Persons under 16 must have birth certificate and in-person signature of both parents. If one parent is absent, a Parental Consent Form must be filled out by absent parent and notarized. Absent parent must also provide copies of both sides of his/her photo identification.
