Basic Computer Operation :
•Learn to perform basic computer tasks

Basic Computer Terminology :
•Learn essential computer terms (CPU, mouse, monitor, icons)
•Question and answer session about computer terms
•No computer access, but expanding general computer knowledge

 

Creating Charts in Microsoft Excel :

During this class, you’ll learn how to create and customize basic charts in MS Excel.  This class builds on the skills used to create basic spreadsheets so a working knowledge of MS Excel is needed to attend.

 

Getting to Know Windows 10 : 
During this class, you’ll learn about the new features of Windows 10, the new desktop, the new start menu, and how to customize the new start menu.

 

Inserting Pictures and Clip Art into MS Word Documents : 
1 Hour – During this class, you’ll learn how to insert, resize, and reposition pictures and clip art in MS Word documents.  The class format will include instruction as well as hands-on practice time on laptops.  Class size is limited to 6 participants so that the instructor can provide assistance to everyone during practice time.

 

Introduction to Microsoft Excel :
During this class, you’ll learn how to perform basic functions in MS Excel such as customizing and formatting columns, rows, and cells. Basic calculating, sorting, and filtering of data will also be covered. Finally, saving and printing spreadsheets will be included in the class as well. The class format will include instruction as well as hands-on practice time on laptops. Class size is limited to 10 participants so that the instructor can provide assistance to everyone during practice time.

 

Introduction to Microsoft PowerPoint :
2 Hours – During this class, you’ll learn how to perform basic functions in MS PowerPoint such as adding slides to slide shows, choosing slide layouts, adding content to slides, formatting text in slide shows and presenting slide shows. The class format will include instruction as well as hands-on practice time on laptops.  Class size is limited to 6 participants so that the instructor can provide assistance to everyone during practice time.

 

Introduction to Microsoft Word : 
During this class, you’ll learn how to perform basic functions in MS Word such as opening, formatting, saving, and printing documents. Basic formatting of text and paragraphs will also be covered. The class format will include instruction as well as hands-on practice time on laptops. Class size is limited to 6 participants so that the instructor can provide assistance to everyone during practice time.

Come to this program to learn how you can access a variety of digital titles and research databases for free using your library card. Our trainer will provide you with an overview of some of our digital resources and databases and then open the program up for questions. Take advantage of everything your library has to offer!

Freegal Music is a music service offered through libraries that allows patrons to stream and dowload songs and music videos. During this class, you’ll learn how to access Freegal Music and use its features. The class format will include instruction as well as hands-on practice time with laptops. Class size is limited to 6 participants so that the instructor can provide assistance to everyone during practice time.

 

Using Hoopla :

Hoopla is a digital streaming media service offered through Scenic Regional Library. Hoopla offers movies, television shows, music albums, audiobooks, eBooks and comic books. During this class, you’ll learn how to set up an account with Hoopla and use its features. The class format will include instruction as well as hands-on practice time on laptops. Class size limited to 6 participants so that the instructor can provide assistance to everyone during practice time.

 

Using the Cloud Library :
On December 5th, Scenic Regional Library will be offering eBooks and eAudiobooks through a new digital collection called the Cloud Library. Using Slide Transitions in Microsoft PowerPoint :

During this class, you’ll learn what slide transitions are and how to apply and customize them in your slide shows.  This class builds on the skills used to create basic slide shows so a working knowledge of MS PowerPoint is needed to attend.
