A Thousand Rooms of Dream and Fear

Atiq Rahimi writes a beautiful and brutal poetic story of life in Afghanistan during the Soviet invasion. This work of fiction will captivate your imagination. It's a glimpse into a boy's life under harsh circumstances in Kabul, unimaginable to most westerners. Twenty-one year old Farhad finds himself running from abusive soldiers only to be taken in by a kind woman before he flees the country. Part dream, part poetry, all human.
