Scenic Regional Library

To use the wireless Internet, patrons must be signed up to use the Internet, have a valid library card and present it to a staff member.  Persons from outside the library service area (visitors) may receive a guest pass by presenting a valid Driver's License or other form of Photo ID with proof of address. 

The staff member will then provide the patron with a username and password.

After receiving the username and password, follow these steps:

1. Connect to the wireless network name (SSID) Scenic.  No password or key is required to connect to the network.
2. Once the connection is established, open a web browser (such as Internet Explorer), and wait for the log-in screen to appear. 
3. Enter the username and password provided by library staff.
4. Click the "Enter" button and proceed to use the Internet as normal.

The wireless networks at Scenic Regional Library are not encrypted.  This means that any traffic sent back and forth between the computer and the Internet could potentially be read by any other person connected to the network.  Therefore, Scenic Regional Library recommends that patrons do not use online banking, or visit other sites with highly sensitive personal information, while using our wireless network.
