Take a Bite Out of a Good Book 

August 1-31, 2015

Celebrate Washington Public Library's Shark Month by taking a bite out of a good book!  If you read a good book during the month of August, write your name on one of the provided sharks, drop it off at the circulation desk, and we'll hang it on our shark wall!

Bitter Brew:  Meet the Author

Join us in the meeting room for a skype call with William Knoedelseder, author of Bitter Brew.  Bitter Brew, tells the riveting, often scandalous sage of the rise and fall of the dysfunctional Busch family--an epic tale of prosperity, profligacy, hubris, and the dark consequences of success thaqt spans three centuries.

Dark Harvest:  An Evening with Ed Gehlert

7-8pm

Ed Gehlert, author of Dark Harvest, will be joining us for a meet and greet.  The author will give a talk about his book, Dark Harvest, and will sign copies afterward.  "Change sometimes comes swiftly and with no warning at all.  Sean Tyler learns this painful lesson at the tender age of six when the world he knows comes to a violent and bloody end."

East Central College (ECC) offers English Language Acquisition (ELA) classes, formerly known as English as a Second Language, at the Missouri Career Center in Washington.  Scenic Regional Library has partnered with East Central College by providing the instructional and testing materials for the program.
