Scenic Regional Library Storywalks™
A StoryWalk™ is an interactive activity that displays pages from a children’s book on posts along an outdoor path. StoryWalks™ promote early literacy, physical activity, and family time together in nature. It’s a fun and educational family activity that can bring joy to the community as people take a stroll and enjoy successive pages from a children’s story.
The StoryWalks™ are a partnership between the library, the local Friends of the Library and the city parks department. Scenic Regional Library will provide a new book for each StoryWalk™ 4 times a year.
StoryWalk™ Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT, and developed in collaboration with the Vermont Bicycle & Pedestrian Coalition (VBPC) and the Kellogg Hubbard Library. Hundreds of StoryWalks™ can be found throughout the United States and many countries, including Canada, Germany, England, Bermuda, Russia, Malaysia, Pakistan, and South Korea.
